We believe that good medicine for persistent complaints cannot stop at naming symptoms.
Many conditions do not arise from a single cause alone. Back pain can be related to functional patterns, states of irritation, or delayed regeneration. Persistent exhaustion can be more than “stress”. Complaints following infections or surgery often cannot be meaningfully understood when individual values or images are looked at in isolation.
That is why we built RECURIO: as a place for medicine that looks more carefully, takes connections seriously, and develops a clear path of treatment from them. The name RECURIO is derived from “recuro” – in the sense of: “I heal again.” For us, it stands for the return to function, regeneration and quality of life along a medically guided, comprehensible path.
What happens when standard pathways no longer lead forward?
Many of our patients have already been through a great deal: doctor’s appointments, MRIs, treatment attempts, medications, perhaps even surgery. Yet there often remains the feeling that their complaints were described, but never truly understood.
This is not a criticism of conventionally practised medicine. Standardised procedures are important and often sensible. But with persistent, treatment-resistant or multi-layered conditions, such pathways sometimes reach their limits. What is then needed is more time, more clinical care, and a view of how multiple factors interact.
Our approach: thinking structurally and systemically
We do not look at complaints only where they are felt. We also ask:
- Which factors are contributing to this condition?
- Which findings are actually relevant?
- Where do structure, inflammation, load and regeneration interact?
- Which strategy is medically sound and comprehensible?
This gives rise to an approach that brings together structural and systemic aspects – not out of theoretical interest, but because that is often precisely where the key to treatment lies.
How we work
Our work connects three levels:
1. Looking closely
It begins with a thorough medical analysis. We examine complaints, prior findings, clinical impression and the course of the condition, and determine specialist diagnostics (IMD Berlin, Ganzimmun, Biovis) together – rather than settling too early on a simple explanation.
2. Recognising connections
We do not view the body as a collection of separate individual problems. Inflammatory processes, functional compensation, metabolism, neural irritation and regeneration can all influence one another.
3. Building treatment meaningfully
We put together diagnostic and therapeutic steps in a way that creates a medically logical overall concept. Depending on the clinical question, modern procedures such as apheresis (Inuspheresis, Toxopheresis), spinal extension (SpineMed), high-energy laser therapy (Hiro TT), Multi-Modality Recovery System (Game Ready), high-energy induction therapy and focused shockwave therapy may also be incorporated.
Who benefits most from this approach
This approach is particularly helpful when complaints:
- have been present for a longer period or keep recurring
- have not improved satisfactorily despite prior treatment
- cannot be conclusively explained by a single finding
- affect several levels simultaneously
- require closer medical guidance and follow-up monitoring
This applies, for example, to people with chronic back and joint complaints, delayed recovery following surgery or infection, persistent fatigue, brain fog, or other conditions where standard routines alone are not sufficient.
Why see a private physician?
Complex medicine requires space. For a thorough medical history. For the careful review of prior findings. For a detailed examination. For follow-up monitoring. And for decisions that are not made at a minute-by-minute pace.
For us, private medical care therefore does not mean luxury, but rather the opportunity to deliver medical quality where standard procedures fall short. More time, more clinical depth and more continuity are not a comfort feature for us, but often the prerequisite for meaningful treatment.
Our vision in one sentence
RECURIO stands for a medicine that does not prematurely simplify complaints, but classifies them with nuance, treats them meaningfully and accompanies them responsibly over time – true to the name: back to healing, function and resilience.
