Medical exercise therapy at RECURIO
Medical exercise therapy (MTT) is targeted, therapist-guided training designed to strengthen your muscles, restore mobility, and reduce pain in the long term. It combines current knowledge from medicine, exercise science, and rehabilitation, and is individually tailored to your symptoms and your performance level.
Goals of medical exercise therapy
-
Rebuilding strength, stability, and endurance
-
Improving mobility, coordination, and posture
-
Reducing chronic pain and preventing relapses
-
Supporting recovery after surgery, injury, or prolonged illness
-
Providing a safe start or restart into physical activity
How does the therapy work?
We begin with a medical and functional assessment to record your symptoms, previous conditions, everyday physical demands, and individual load tolerance. Based on this, we develop a personalised training plan with clearly defined goals.
Training takes place under the guidance of specially trained therapists. The exercises are progressively increased so that you are challenged but not overstrained. Regular progress and outcome evaluations help us to continuously adapt the programme – for example in response to improvements, new demands in everyday life, or changes in symptoms.
For whom is medical exercise therapy suitable?
Medical exercise therapy is suitable, among other things, for:
-
Chronic back, neck, or joint pain
-
Overuse complaints related to work or sports
-
Muscular imbalances and postural problems
-
Rehabilitation after surgery and injuries of the musculoskeletal system
-
Reduced load tolerance due to prolonged inactivity
Together with you, we define realistic goals: less pain, greater resilience in everyday life, a safe and confident approach to movement, and a tangible increase in quality of life.
Specialised training for osteoporosis
A key focus of medical exercise therapy at RECURIO is targeted, safe training for osteoporosis. The aim is to positively influence bone metabolism, strengthen the muscles, and thereby reduce the risk of falls and fractures.
The exercises are selected to load the bones in a meaningful way without overloading them. Core elements include upright posture, functional everyday movements, strength training with adapted intensity, as well as balance and coordination exercises. Sudden, high-impact loads and movements with a high risk of falling are deliberately avoided.
Before starting the training, we assess your individual baseline situation – including previous fractures, comorbidities, and any limitations. On this basis, we develop a personalised training programme that is gradually adjusted as you become more stable and better able to tolerate load. In this way, you can actively support your bone health while gaining more stability and confidence in your ability to move.
Your path to medical exercise therapy at RECURIO
In an initial consultation with a physician or therapist, we clarify whether medical exercise therapy is appropriate for your situation and how it can be integrated into your overall treatment plan. You will then receive a structured training plan, which we implement together in regular sessions and adjust as needed.
