INUSpherese® — Specialized Therapeutic Apheresis

INUSpherese® is a highly specialized procedure in therapeutic apheresis (blood purification). Using special dual-membrane filters, pathogenic proteins, inflammatory mediators, environmental toxins, and autoantibodies are selectively removed from the plasma. These include heavy metals, autoantibodies, microplastic particles, and pro-inflammatory signaling molecules associated with chronic diseases and states of exhaustion. This “blood cleansing” improves microcirculation and relieves the immune system, forming the foundation for recovery in cases of chronic fatigue.

Unlike conventional detoxification methods, INUSpherese® works precisely at the cellular level. Through a gentle filtration process, the blood plasma is purified. Harmful substances are captured in what is known as the eluate, while vital blood cells are preserved. This leads to a noticeable relief of the immune system and can improve metabolic activity in the long term.

For Which Patients Is INUSpherese® Particularly Suitable?

INUSpherese® has demonstrated positive effects in patients with chronic inflammatory conditions, autoimmune disorders, and environmentally induced burdens. These include in particular people with:

• Rheumatological diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), where persistent joint inflammation and autoantibodies impair quality of life.

How Does the INUSpherese® Treatment Work?

Before the start of therapy, a detailed consultation with the treating specialist takes place, during which the patient’s current health situation and any open questions are discussed. The actual treatment lasts approximately two to three hours and is performed on an outpatient basis at the practice.

During the session, the patient lies in a relaxed position on a treatment bed. Blood purification takes place in a closed circuit via two venous accesses — one in each arm. A specially developed filter system separates the blood plasma from the blood cells, cleanses it, and then returns it to the body. Continuous monitoring throughout the entire process ensures safety at all times. The filtered harmful substances, known as the eluate, can be analyzed in a laboratory — allowing you to see which contaminants were removed from your body, such as microplastics, heavy metals, or pesticides.

As a rule, you can go home directly after the treatment. However, we recommend avoiding strenuous activities such as driving on that day, as some patients experience temporary fatigue.

Safety and Tolerability

INUSpherese® is a procedure with very few side effects. In rare cases, sensitive patients may experience a mild drop in blood pressure, which is immediately addressed during therapy. Minor bleeding at the puncture sites is also rare and is promptly treated.
